This three-year site-specific installation at Lisbon Oceanarium is a journey about our relationship to the ocean. Groundbreaking approaches were used to capture motion, producing abstract forms that challenge visual perception. The project brings together the worlds of art, technology and natural history eliminating the division between viewer and story.
Gravidade was appointed to develop the structural design for this “building within a building”. A timber frame on glulam was used to meet the requests for short-time execution, easy dismantlement, reduced tolerances, high stiffness and excellent sustainability performance.
