Rua Martires

This student housing building is located at Rua dos Mártires, near the historical center of Leiria. It is composed by two different areas: the first one envolving the renovation of an existing traditional building and the second one consisting in a new construction with a grounf level and four elevated floors. The total gross area totalizes 1750m2. In the old building the timber floors and roof structure were replaced while the stone façades were keeped and reinforced. The new area is a concrete frame stucture. Both areas are connected. Gravidade was responsible for the development of Structural and Foundations projects from concept to detailed design and for the coordination of all the engineering disciplines.
